How to use Promescent
How do I use Promescent?
Start with 3 sprays on shaft & glans (many men achieve the desired ejaculatory control with 1-2 sprays)
Rub spray lotion into the skin of the penis until it is completely absorbed.
Wait 10 minutes.
Can consider wiping the penis with a damp towel if oral sex is anticipated.
Adjust dosage, up to a maximum of 10 sprays, to achieve desired results.
Why is the metered-dose bottle important?
The metered-dose bottle ensures that each spray contains the same amount of Promescent. This allows you to consistently manage the amount of Promescent that's just right for your level of sensitivity.
How many sprays of Promescent should I use?
The FDA monograph instructs the user to use between 3 and 10 sprays. Many men, however, achieve the desired ejaculatory control with 1-2 sprays. Most men adjust the number of sprays per application depending upon such factors as sensitivity level, the time since previous ejaculation, level of arousal and / or how long he wants to last. After just a few applications, Promescent users quickly learn the dose (# of sprays) that gives them the best ejaculatory control. Consistent dosing means consistent control.
What happens if I use too much Promescent?
Temporary loss of erection and numbness may occur. Irritation to the skin may also occur. If either condition occurs, discontinue the use of Promescent. Immediately wash the penis with soap and water, and symptoms should subside in a short period of time. If symptoms persist, contact a physician.
When should I not use Promescent?
Do not use Promescent if you or your partner is allergic to lidocaine or other anesthetics. Do not use on broken or irritated skin. Do not spray near flame or fire. Do not spray in or near eyes or mouth. Do not orally ingest. Promescent is safe for oral contact, but the potential for numbness of a sexual partner is more likely with oral contact. That's why it's important to be sure to thoroughly remove the product prior to oral contact. Do not use Promescent if you or your partner is suffering from liver or kidney disease. Do not use if your partner is or may be pregnant.
Can Promescent be used in conjunction with other medications?
Consult with your physician before using Promescent if you are being treated for any other medical conditions.

If too much spray is applied to the penis, side effects could include temporary loss of sensitivity and possibly a temporary loss of erection. Other side effects could include skin irritation, burning or excessive numbing. If any of these side effects occur, immediately discontinue the use of Promescent, wash the penis with soap and water and consult a physician if symptoms persist for more than 12 hours.
Is it safe for oral contact?
PROMESCENT is safe for oral contact. However the potential for numbness of a sexual partner is even more significant with oral contact. Be sure to thoroughly remove the product prior to oral contact.
Will I need to wash my hands after I rub on the spray?
Yes. You should wash your hands thoroughly after applying the product to minimize the chances of transferring it to your partner and to prevent Promescent from coming in contact with your eyes, as serious medical problems may occur.

No, Promescent does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases. Sexual abstinence is the only sure way of avoiding sexually transmitted diseases. Condom use may protect against the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
Promescent vs Other Topical Treatments
How is Promescent like PSD 502?
PSD 502, a product for the treatment of premature ejaculation (PE), has not received FDA-approval even though multiple studies have shown its effectiveness and lack of substantial side effects. Unlike other topical therapies that contain lidocaine, PSD 502 also has prilocaine and an advanced eutectic absorption technology that significantly improved its effectiveness compared to the other treatments. PSD 502 has yet to be introduced as it still pending regulatory approval.
Promescent was engineered with a similar advanced eutectic absorption technology as PSD 502. Promescent contains only lidocaine and is delivered in a metered-dose spray for consistent and repeatable results. With its advanced absorption, Promescent takes effect quickly (10 minutes), and provides excellent results with no significant side effects. Best of all, Promescent is FDA-approved and available legally, over the counter without a prescription in North America.
Is RX19 the same as Promescent?
Yes, Promescent was previously sold under the name RX 19 through various men's medical clinics. If you've been looking for RX 19, you've found it - RX 19 IS Promescent.
Promescent & Your Partner
Can the desensitizing (numbing) effect transfer to my partner?
If applied properly this is highly unlikely.
Will my partner be able to detect that I'm using Promescent?
As long as you apply Promescent as directed and wipe off any excess, the only thing your partner will notice is that you're lasting longer.
Do I need to wear a condom with Promescent?
No. Unlike other topicals , Promescent actually penetrates the skin. With its advanced absorption technology, Promescent goes to work where it's needed. As long as it's applied as directed, rubbed in thoroughly, and any excess product removed prior to intimacy, its effects shouldn't transfer to your partner.
Does Promescent protect against sexually transmitted diseases?
No topical treatment for premature ejaculation will protect against sexually transmitted diseases. Although use of a condom will greatly reduce the likelihood that one will contract an STD, sexual abstinence is the only way to guarantee that one will not contract an STD.
Can I use Promescent if we're trying to get pregnant or my partner is pregnant?
Promescent has nothing in it that will prevent pregnancy or reduce the likelihood of pregnancy. However, the active ingredient in Promescent - lidocaine, is a category B compound per the FDA. This means that lidocaine has not been proven to be safe to use in pregnancy. While there is no data that we are aware of that suggests that lidocaine is dangerous in pregnancy, we are still unable to recommend it in couples who are or may become pregnant.
