Promescent CEO Jeff Abraham as a guest on the Swing Nation podcast discussing sexual wellness

Sexual performance is rarely discussed as openly as it is on the Swing Nation podcast, a show by and for the swinger lifestyle community that sets out to push back on stigma and educate listeners. In a candid catch-up episode, hosts Northern Guy and Southern Girl welcomed back Jeff Abraham, CEO of Promescent, a returning guest and longtime sponsor, for a wide-ranging conversation about sexual wellness, performance, and the products built to support both.

Sexual Wellness Is Wellness

One of Jeff Abraham's central themes is that taking care of your sex life belongs in the same category as the rest of your self-care. People invest heavily in fitness, diet, and appearance, much of it aimed at attracting a partner, yet they rarely put the same energy into the relationship once they have one.

"Why don't we spend as much time and energy and effort in maintaining and keeping the partner as we do attracting the partner? So spending a couple hundred dollars on making sure you're a better lover and heightened intimacy is really nothing compared to the amount of money you've already spent just attracting that partner."

The hosts agreed, noting that people in the lifestyle tend to be especially tuned in to their sexual health, from getting hormones checked to seeking out higher-quality products. That mindset, Abraham argues, is one everyone can borrow, whether they are in the lifestyle or in a long-term monogamous relationship.

From Taboo Aisle to Mainstream Shelf

Abraham has watched the sexual wellness category transform over more than a decade. He recalled that in 2013, a trip to a major retailer turned up little more than a single medicinal-feeling product, while today full lines of intimacy products sit on shelves at national chains. That shift matters because it lowers the barrier to getting help.

He framed Promescent's retail strategy around meeting people wherever they feel comfortable, whether that is a discreet online order or a quick in-store pickup.

"So for us, the whole key was wherever you're comfortable getting the product, we're comfortable providing it on that site."

Premature ejaculation, the issue Promescent's first product was designed to address, is one of the most common sexual health concerns for men. According to the Urology Care Foundation, it is a treatable condition, and resources from the Cleveland Clinic reinforce that men do not have to simply live with it.

Promescent has grown from roughly 2,500 retail shelf placements in 2021 to about 13,000 today across chains like Walmart, Target, CVS, and others, according to figures Jeff Abraham shared on the podcast.

The Delay Spray and the Orgasm Gap

Promescent's flagship product is its delay spray, originally developed to help men last longer and close what Abraham calls the orgasm gap, the difference in time it takes partners to reach climax. He has described elsewhere that when one partner consistently finishes far ahead of the other, intimacy suffers, and the spray is meant to extend a man's time to climax so couples can stay in sync.

On the podcast, the hosts pointed out how relevant that is in their world, where vigorous, longer-lasting sex with multiple partners is the entire point of an evening. Abraham noted the product was the brand's first and remains its best known, now the top-selling sexual enhancement product in its category on Amazon.

For readers exploring options, the Promescent Delay Spray is designed to help men extend time to climax. Anyone weighing whether premature ejaculation is affecting them can review general background from the Mayo Clinic before deciding on an approach.

Built on Clinical Validation

What sets Promescent apart, Abraham says, is its roots in the medical community and its willingness to spend on rigorous testing. The company has urologists and sexual medicine leaders on its board, and unlike most competitors, it has paid for clinical trials.

"We're one of the few companies, if not the only company in this space, that actually has paid for clinical trials. They cost half a million dollars a product. And that's a lot of money."

He explained that a credible trial has to be IRB certified and statistically significant, meaning enough participants to move past the margin of error. That investment, he argues, is why doctors feel comfortable recommending the products to patients. For more on premature ejaculation as a clinical condition, the National Library of Medicine offers a detailed overview.

Listening to Customers to Build the Lineup

Abraham is candid that Promescent's product roadmap was not mapped out in a boardroom. As CEO, he personally reaches out to repeat customers to learn how they found the brand and how satisfied they are, and that feedback drives what gets built next.

The first add-on was an organic aloe vera lubricant, created because men who went from lasting under a minute to eight or ten minutes suddenly needed lubrication they had not needed before. The brand later expanded into Vitaflux, a nitric oxide supplement formulated with L-carnitine, L-citrulline, L-arginine, zinc, and magnesium to support blood flow. Abraham shared his own experience after a urologist on the board gave it to him.

"It increases blood flow. When it does that, it causes arousal, because when you increase blood flow, it doesn't just go in one specific area. It goes everywhere and your genitals are part of it."

He also noted that the supplement has been popular with women, many of whom told the company it helped them with natural lubrication. From lubes to arousal gels to before-and-after wipes, the same pattern held: customers asked, and the company built.

The Takeaway

The throughline of this episode is that sexual wellness deserves the same attention, investment, and honesty as any other part of health. Whether someone is deeply embedded in the lifestyle or simply wants better intimacy at home, the message is the same: the products exist, the science is real, and the conversation no longer has to happen in a brown paper bag.
