Ejaculating too quickly during sex can truly interfere with having a positive sexual experience.

And unfortunately, premature ejaculation is a fairly common problem for men.

Men who struggle with premature ejaculation, in an effort to fix the issue, often seek out several treatment options.

Premature ejaculation hypnosis is one of the latest proposed options.

But does premature ejaculation hypnosis work?

Let's take a closer look.

Quick FAQs

While techniques like hypnosis can help men better control premature ejaculation, there is no such thing as a cure for PE.

Yes, there are several alternative options available. There are exercises and techniques, over-the-counter and prescription medications.

Primarily, the sessions focus on any underlying issues that may be causing PE. Such as performance anxiety, sexual abuse, relationship problems, sexual repression, and any stress associated with sex.

What Is Premature Ejaculation Hypnosis?

Premature ejaculation hypnosis is a form of hypnotherapy aimed at helping men who have problems with premature ejaculation (PE).

To understand PE hypnosis, let’s first get an understanding of hypnosis on the most basic level.

Hypnosis is a state of consciousness in which an individual is awake and aware but hyperfocused on internal thoughts and feelings.

This is often referred to as a trance-like or meditative state.

While an individual is in this trance-like state, therapists help them hone in on specific memories, feelings, or possible thoughts.

This is done in an effort to achieve some type of therapeutic outcome.

In the case of hypnosis for PE, the individual would be induced into this trance-like state to better focus on their internal emotions and thoughts.

For example, they may need to focus on things likely related to sexual performance, such as memories of sexual experiences or events or emotions associated with sex.

Hypnosis for premature ejaculation may also allow a therapist to help an individual learn how to control their emotions related to sex that spur rapid ejaculation.

The hypnosis session may involve getting into a focused state and learning how to use visualization to control sexual excitement better and prolong ejaculation.

Can Hypnosis Help with Premature Ejaculation?

Hypnotic techniques have been used in sex therapy for many years in an effort to alleviate symptoms of sexual dysfunction.

However, specific controlled studies are not openly available to prove positive outcomes in wide-scale models.

There is not a lot of documented research to definitively answer whether hypnosis for premature ejaculation truly works.

Hypnotherapy has been mentioned as a way to help improve ejaculatory control, but this is most often used in conjunction with other methodologies, such as relaxation training.

Whether or not premature ejaculation hypnosis helps can also depend on the underlying cause of PE.

PE's common underlying causes include:

  • Sexual performance anxiety
  • Interpersonal relationship problems
  • Concurrent issues with erectile dysfunction
  • Extreme penile sensitivity

Several other factors may also influence PE that have even more complicated psychological roots, such as:

    • Anxiety
    • Stress
  • Guilt about sex
  • Sexual repression
  • Sexual abuse
  • Low self-confidence

Can Hypnosis Cure Premature Ejaculation?

The idea that PE can be cured is also not well-established, whether with traditional treatments or with something like hypnosis.

Most often, treatment is focused on controlling the symptoms, and treatment may involve some psychosexual aspect, like sexual therapy that involves hypnosis.

However, most men do require some level of ongoing treatment to keep premature ejaculation problems at bay.

Premature ejaculation can range from mild to severe and is generally classified into four categories:

    • Lifelong - This has always happened
    • Acquired - Happens after having normal ejaculation for a period of time
  • Subjective - Either partner is not happy with ejaculation times
  • Variable - Only happens in certain situations

Since PE can be such a complicated issue with sexual function, it is not always feasible to find a one-and-done type of treatment that eliminates the issue.

Alternatives to Premature Ejaculation Hypnosis?

If premature ejaculation hypnosis is not something you’re comfortable with or it proves to be ineffective, several other methods and options may help.

Further, many of the following options can be used in combination to achieve optimal outcomes.

And many men will find the best outcomes by taking a multifaceted approach to controlling their symptoms of PE.

Kegels

Pelvic floor strengthening with kegel exercises may yield more ejaculatory control for some men, albeit the enhancement may not be all that substantial.

In a study of 40 men, more than 82 percent were able to gain more control over ejaculation after 12 weeks of pelvic floor exercises.

All men involved in the study had an ejaculation latency time during sex of less than or equal to one minute before the 12 weeks of exercise.

The average time increased to almost two and a half minutes after the 12 weeks,

Squeeze Technique

The squeeze technique is just as it sounds:

  1. Have sex until ejaculation is imminent
  2. Stop sex and stimulation
  3. Squeeze firmly on the tip of the penis until the urge subsides or about 30 seconds
  4. Repeat as needed to prolong sex and delay ejaculation

The Edging or Start/Stop Method

The edging method is much like the squeeze method, but no squeezing is involved.

Instead, simply stop sex and avoid any stimulation until the urge to ejaculate dissipates.

Once again, the process can be repeated as much as needed to keep sex going.

Medication

Medication for premature ejaculation may be something to consider for some men.

Certain prescription medications may be used off-label for the treatment of PE.

For example, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), most often used to treat depression and anxiety, may improve the symptoms of PE.

Drugs like:

  • Paxil
  • Zoloft
  • Priligy

While SSRIs can come along with side effects when taken long-term, some medications may be viable for "on-demand" treatment.

Sertraline(Zoloft), for instance, has been shown in recent publications to help men with PE when taken on-demand or as needed instead of daily.

And, on-demand use is associated with fewer side effects.

Delay Sprays

Delay spray is a highly effective over-the-counter topical option for men dealing with premature ejaculation.

Basically, delay sprays contain a desensitizing solution that absorbs into the skin of the penis and lowers the sensitivity of the nerves temporarily.

This can be enough to delay ejaculation and make sex more enjoyable.

Promescent Desensitizing Spray, for example, has been shown in studies to prolong ejaculation times by as much as almost five minutes.

The delay spray is made with a topical lidocaine solution for lowered sensitivity during intercourse.

مناديل التأخير المبللة

Men who have sensitivities or allergies to lidocaine may prefer delay wipes over delay spray.

For example, Promescent Delay Wipes are made with a 7 percent benzocaine solution.

Delay wipes work the same way as delay spray; the solution soaks through the skin to lower sensitivity levels in the penis.

However, the solution is applied with a wipe, which can allow for a more precise placement of the desensitizing solution.

The only downside is wipes may not offer the same level or duration of effects as delay spray with lidocaine, but they are a good alternative for on-the-go situations.

Takeaways to Remember

Can hypnosis help with premature ejaculation? Possibly but there is not enough research to say yes or no.

PE can have many underlying contributing factors, both physical and psychological in nature.

For some men, some type of therapy may be the key to understanding why they deal with PE.

Nevertheless, most men see the best outcomes with a combination of approaches to prolong ejaculation.

Using something like VitaFLUX for men to support sexual health, products to gain more control like delay spray, and other situational techniques are more likely to yield a positive experience.
